Environmental Group Manager

The Environmental Group Manager role with the Department of Environmental Protection offers a chance to guide programs that safeguard Pennsylvania's environment. Your leadership will support responsible waste practices and help drive statewide progress. This position allows you to work with experts and contribute to long term environmental health. The role includes program guidance, staff supervision and coordination with many partners. As an Environmental Group Manager, you will perform the following duties:

Program Leadership:

Guide statewide development and implementation of regulations for municipal and residual waste facilities

Staff Supervision:

Direct technical staff, set goals, review performance and support daily operations

Policy Evaluation:

Assess and improve policies, procedures and program goals to ensure effectiveness

Technical Guidance:

Provide interpretations of laws and regulations and offer assistance to regional staff

Public Engagement:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework:

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
