Florida Water Lead | Florida (Location Flexible) We are partnering with a specialist water resources civil engineering consulting firm in the Tampa Bay area, recognized for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for public agencies across. Their work spans water resources engineering, regulatory support, and construction engineering/inspection services. This firm is now ready to expand
  • opening an additional Florida presence
  • and is seeking a "seller/doer" leader to launch and grow it.

LOCATIONFlexible in Florida. The goal is to establish a new Florida office presence where you have strong relationships and can grow a team.
WHAT YOU'LL
DOAs the Practice Leader, you will:
  • Drive business development: identify, pursue, and win water resources work (municipal/public agency and related markets)
  • Serve as a trusted technical and client-facing leader in stormwater, drainage, watershed planning, hydrology/hydraulics, and resilience work
  • Build and mentor a team as workload grows
  • developing engineers/designers under you
  • Lead proposals, scopes, fees, and client strategy; collaborate with leadership to align resources and delivery
  • Ensure exceptional technical quality and client satisfaction, leveraging company tools/standards/support
  • Represent the firm externally through relationships, presentations, and professional involvement
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Establish a clear market focus and launch plan for your Florida area
  • Win and deliver initial projects using a mix of your relationships and firm capabilities
  • Hire and develop the first set of team members under you as backlog expands
  • Create repeatable BD rhythms (pursuits, pipeline, client touch points) that scale
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Water Resources Engineering (flexible based on strength of business development track record)
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Demonstrated success in business development (bringing in work)
  • Strong technical credibility in stormwater/drainage/H&H modeling, watershed planning, resiliency, and permitting/regulatory coordination
  • Proven ability (or strong readiness) to lead, mentor, and grow a team
  • Confident communicator with proposal leadership and client management experience
PREFERRED
  • Experience delivering work for Florida municipalities, utilities, and/or agencies; comfort navigating Florida regulatory environments
  • Familiarity with common H&H tools and workflows used in Florida practice environments
  • Strong local network in your Florida region (municipal/public works, stormwater, transportation drainage, etc.
)
