As a Sr. Environmental Consultant, you will provide high-level expertise through on-site visits, remote engagements, and virtual collaboration. Your work will include conducting audits and assessments, developing and implementing customized compliance solutions, and delivering training and technical guidance tailored to each client's needs.

You will serve as a strategic partner, helping clients interpret regulatory requirements, strengthen their environmental programs, and maintain ongoing compliance. This role offers the opportunity to apply deep technical knowledge, build long-term client relationships, and contribute to safer, more sustainable workplaces across the country.

Technically-proficient specialist adept at emission calculations, data analysis, control technologies, compliance auditing, permitting, and strategic regulatory analyses. Conducts environmental audits and assessments, develops customized reports and manuals, and delivers regulatory related training. Maintains a high level of regulatory expertise. Monitors and assesses regulatory changes, communicates regulatory information to staff and clients. Proactively develops additional business within client base. Identifies and analyzes customer needs, develops concepts and proposals, schedules activities and closes contracts. Completes routine environmental reports for clients including Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory, Semiannual Deviation Reports, Annual Compliance Certifications, Emission Inventories, and Greenhouse Gas Reports.

Identifies and develops additional service offerings. QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental or a Science related field.

In lieu of bachelor's degree, will consider an additional 3 years of environmental regulatory experience.

Experience8+ years experience as a environmental practitioner in a consulting and or corporate environment. 4+ years complex sales / business development experience desirable.

Other Skills/QualificationsMust be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite. Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates and client representatives at all levels.

Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Understanding of sales, marketing and business finance concepts/applications.

Knowledge of EHS to include environmental compliance at both a national and state level. Workplace safety experience a plus. Self-starter with strong cognitive problem-solving abilities.

Motivated goal-oriented individual with excellent organization, planning & implementation, time-management, and quality control skills.

Physical RequirementsWork is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Frequent travel to customer sites and/or industry and training events is required.

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply): Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $135,000.00 to $150,000.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's overall experience and geographic location. Note that J. J. Keller is not currently recruiting employees to work in California.
