We are partnering with a well‑established national engineering firm that is actively growing its water resources practice in the Dallas market. To support this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) Engineer to join their team on‑site in the Dallas office. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. About the Role Our client is looking for a technically strong and strategically minded water resources professional who enjoys analytical work, team leadership, and client interaction. This mid‑ to senior‑level position will play a key role in strengthening the firm's regional capabilities while contributing to high‑impact projects across the country. Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will: Lead hydrologic and hydraulic projects from concept through completion, ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction. Mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers , supporting their technical development and fostering a collaborative team culture. Perform and oversee advanced modelling using HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS (1D/2D) for flood studies, stormwater systems, and infrastructure‑related analyses. Review and approve technical deliverables , including models, calculations, reports, and design documents. Communicate complex technical findings clearly to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Support business development efforts , including identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and strengthening client relationships. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies to support permitting and project execution. Champion a strong safety culture across all project activities. Required Background & Skills Education & Licensure Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related accredited field. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience At least 10 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering, ideally within a consulting environment. Proven experience managing projects and leading technical teams. Technical Expertise Advanced proficiency with HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS (1D/2D) is required. Familiarity with GIS, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar modelling/design tools is a plus. Strong understanding of stormwater systems, floodplain considerations, watershed planning, and related infrastructure. Professional Skills Strong leadership and organizational abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain client relationships. Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or client meetings.
