$115,000 - $165,000 + Bonus(s) About the Opportunity A leading Heavy Civil General Contractor is seeking an Environmental Manager to support and oversee environmental compliance across major infrastructure and construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations while partnering closely with project teams to promote sustainable construction practices and mitigate environmental risks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional looking to play a key role on large-scale heavy civil projects involving transportation, utilities, excavation, earthwork, marine, and infrastructure construction. Responsibilities Lead environmental compliance efforts for multiple heavy civil construction projects. Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific environmental management plans. Oversee environmental permitting, monitoring, reporting, and documentation. Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments. Coordinate with regulatory agencies, project owners, consultants, and project teams. Ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control requirements, stormwater permits, and water quality regulations. Provide environmental training and guidance to project personnel. Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions when necessary. Support project planning activities by identifying environmental risks and developing mitigation strategies. Stay current on environmental regulations and industry best practices. Experience Needed 5+ years of environmental compliance experience within heavy civil construction, infrastructure, transportation, utility, marine, or earthwork projects. Experience managing environmental permitting and compliance programs on active construction projects. Strong knowledge of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and water quality requirements. Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and environmental consultants. Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience conducting environmental inspections, audits, and compliance reporting. Qualifications Needed Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, or a related field. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Familiarity with NPDES permitting, SWPPP implementation, and environmental permitting processes. Working knowledge of construction means and methods within the heavy civil industry. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to interpret environmental regulations and apply them to construction operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental reporting software.
