ABOUT DUNNIGAN FIRE DISTRICT
Dunnigan Fire District serves the Dunnigan community and surrounding Yolo County response areas, including the Interstate 5 and Interstate 505 corridors. The district responds to a wide variety of emergencies including: Structure fires Vehicle accidents & extrications EMS incidents Wildland fires Hazardous conditions Mutual aid requests throughout the region Our district protects a growing rural community with significant highway traffic, commercial transportation routes, agricultural operations, and expanding residential development. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Fire Officer or Firefighter with 4 to 5 years of experience to join our district. In this vital role, you will lead firefighting efforts, coordinate emergency responses, and ensure safety protocols are meticulously followed. Your proactive approach will help protect lives, property, and the environment during fire incidents and other emergencies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in community safety while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Experience Proven experience as a Fire Officer or firefighter with demonstrated leadership in emergency situations. Valid commercial driver's license with experience operating heavy vehicles preferred. EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification or equivalent experience in emergency medical response. Hands-on experience with first aid, CPR, and basic life support procedures. Mechanical knowledge related to firefighting equipment and vehicle maintenance is highly desirable. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks during rescue operations. Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring and emergency medical protocols.
