Deputy Fire Marshal Sandy Location Principal Duties:
As a Deputy Fire Marshal you will will perform the following duties within an assigned geographic area to include: Fire Investigation Determine cause and origin of fires Conduct investigations Prepare technical reports Assist in prosecution of criminal charges Fire Prevention Review, approve and deny architectural and engineering plans for fire code compliance Inspect and test fire protection systems Inspect, approve and deny new and existing structures for compliance with codes and standards Provide technical assistance Develop and conduct training Inspection of new and existing structures for code complianceQualifications Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing) Complete and successfully pass a Level III background (investigation, polygraph, medical, drug and psychological exams) Current Utah Fire Inspector I certification; or Investigator I certification; or POST certification; Peace Officer Standards Training in Utah
- Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per
UCA53-3-202
(1)(a). Live within 50 miles of Supplemental Information There are risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:
