Job Description

Fire Captain The City of Richland Hills is seeking a Fire Captain. This position participates and supervises in the daily activities, services and operations of an assigned shift in a respective fire station of the Fire Department; oversees the training and education of assigned firefighting personnel; ensures general maintenance of station vehicles, equipment and apparatus; responds to emergency fire suppression, disaster and medical situations; and provides staff assistance to assigned command personnel View the Fire Captain job description (PDF). We seek candidates who have an ability to use innovation and initiative in decision making to better serve the public. Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Four years of full-time employment with the Richland Hills Fire Department or eight or more years of full-time fire service experience. Advanced or higher firefighter Certification from the Texas Commission of Fire Protection. Instructor II Certification, Fire Officer II Certification, Fire Inspector I or higher Certification, Hazardous Materials Technician Certification, National Registry or Texas Department of State Health Services Certification as an EMT-Paramedic, Valid Class B CDL or Class B Exempt Driver's License. Compensation The City of Richland Hills offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this position is $932,100 to $106,834. The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) at a 7% employee deposit rate with a City matching ratio of 2:1. The City pays 100% of the employee's medical, dental and term life insurance, and contributes 50% to dependent medical coverage. Employees receive paid vacation and sick leave, and eleven (11) paid holidays which accrue at the beginning of the year to be used at any time. To Apply Please complete the Job Application.
