Job Description

The Southmayd is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Fire Chief for the Southmayd Fire Department.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements Must be a United States citizen or be able to provide legal documentation showing proof of U.S. employment
Minimum of:
Seven (7) years of full-time firefighter experience; or Ten (10) years of volunteer firefighter experience with documented attendance of: At least 40% of department training, and At least 25% of department calls Department must conduct a minimum of 48 hours of annual training Three (3) years as a superior officer (i.e., Lieutenant, Captain, Asst Chief or Chief. Firefighter I/II Certification (TCFP)
NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700
EMT Certification (Out of state must be able to obtain TX certification) Valid Texas Driver License (Out of state must be able to obtain TX DL) Must possess a clean driving record Class B Driver License or above Must successfully pass a background investigation Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening Must live within 25 miles of the City of Southmayd Military supervisor experience may be accepted for superior officer Must obtain Head of Department Certification within 6 months Fire Officer I (TCFP) preferred or obtained within 6 months Preferred Qualifications Intermediate Structural Firefighter Certification through
