About the Department The Town of Ledgeview Fire Department is made up of 33 dedicated Paid-On-Call (POC) firefighters who respond to roughly 230 calls for service per year (not including EMS response). The department has a First Responder program and contracts with the City of De Pere Fire Rescue and County Rescue for ambulance response and transport. The response area for the town covers roughly 17.22 square miles and includes residential, commercial, and rural areas. The Town of Ledgeview Fire Department participates in MABAS Division 112, which covers all of Brown County, Wisconsin, allowing fire departments to use pre-determined resource requests with efficient dispatching to respond to emergency and planned events within the county and beyond. Role Responsibilities The Fire Chief provides leadership and direction for the Town of Ledgeview's Fire Department, overseeing all fire service operations, personnel, budgeting, training, and compliance with municipal and state codes. This role is responsible for maintaining effective emergency response readiness while ensuring ongoing community engagement and departmental accountability. The position also includes strategic planning, personnel oversight, inter-agency collaboration, and public safety programming. A Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science, Business Administration, or Public Administration is preferred and associates degree may be accepted. Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFOD) is desired as well. Certification as a Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Fire Officer I, or the ability to obtain within a specified time is required. Certification in National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800 with the ability to obtainNIMS 400
certification within one year of hire is required. Hours This position is part-time and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and offers flexibility depending on schedule. This position will also be granted an allocation of personal time off each year during which the Chief will not have scheduled hours or not be required to respond to emergencies.
