Job Description

Assistant Fire Chief - Maple Bluff Fire Rescue Department (MBFD) The Village of Maple Bluff is seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and community-focused leader to serve as Assistant Fire Chief within the MBFD. This is a full-time leadership position operating under the direction of the Fire Chief / EMS Director and serving as a key member of the Department's command staff. The Assistant Fire Chief plays a critical role in supporting daily fire, rescue, EMS, training, prevention, and operational activities while helping implement strategic direction and organizational priorities. The position supports a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and community engagement within a combination Fire/EMS department serving a small, independent community that strongly values high-quality local emergency services. The selected candidate will be expected to support operational readiness, personnel development, emergency response coordination, training initiatives, and long-term workforce stability while helping ensure the Department remains responsive to the evolving needs of the community. This position operates on a 48/96 shift rotation and is expected to participate in department training, meetings, and community events as operationally necessary.
