FIRE SAFETY TECHNICIAN
("Hood Cleaner")Role Summary:
The Fire Safety Technician plays a critical role by ensuring commercial kitchen exhaust systems are clean, safe, and fully compliant with NFPA 96 fire safety codes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires hard work, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.Key Responsibilities:
Perform hood, duct, filter, and fan cleaning services in compliance with NFPA 96 standards. Safely operate hot-water pressure washers, scrapers, chemicals, and other cleaning equipment. Set up and tear down job sites, including protective plastic and floor coverings. Identify fire hazards, grease buildup, and non-compliance issues, reporting them to management. Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles in proper working order. Interact professionally with restaurant managers and staff, representing Hood Washers with integrity. Follow all OSHA safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and fall protection when applicable. Participate in regular safety and skills training sessions.Qualifications:
Required:
Strong work ethic and reliability; ability to work nights and weekends (most cleanings occur after hours). Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces. Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills. Attention to detail and commitment to fire safety and compliance.Preferred:
Previous experience in pressure washing, commercial cleaning, construction, or maintenance. Familiarity with NFPA 96 fire safety standards. Mechanical aptitude (basic tool use, equipment troubleshooting). 2 Confidential -Hood Washers, LLC Benefits:
