Job Description

REDLINE Fire Watch is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Fire Watch Specialists to support active projects where fire protection systems are impaired or temporarily out of service. Fire Watch Specialists play a critical role in maintaining life safety by monitoring conditions, identifying hazards, and ensuring proper documentation and communication. This position is well-suited for individuals who are dependable, alert, and able to follow established procedures with minimal supervision. Candidates who arrive with recognized fire watch credentials are given scheduling priority as projects come available. Key Responsibilities Perform continuous on-site fire watch patrols as required by applicable fire codes and site directives Monitor assigned areas for fire hazards, smoke, or unsafe conditions Maintain accurate fire watch logs and required documentation Immediately report fires, alarms, or hazardous conditions to emergency services and designated site contacts Communicate clearly with supervisors and follow site-specific instructions Remain awake, alert, and on-site for the full duration of assigned shifts Conduct all duties in a professional, safety-focused manner Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Effective communication skills Smartphone capable of photo logging, GPS verification, and basic reporting Ability to meet any site-specific screening or access requirements Prior fire watch, construction, safety, or life-safety experience is a plus but not required. Candidates who have completed a recognized fire watch certification program — such as the one available at firewatchacademy.org — are encouraged to apply and will be considered first for available shifts. Schedule & Work Conditions Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and overnights Assignments may be short-term or project-based Hours are based on project needs and individual reliability Additional Information This role requires continuous attentiveness; sleeping or leaving the site unattended is not permitted Hours are not guaranteed.
