Job Description

Position Summary Action Fire Protection is seeking a licensed Pre-Engineered Fire Suppression Technician to inspect, test, service, repair, and install restaurant hood suppression systems and other pre-engineered fire suppression systems throughout Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will have experience working with wet chemical and dry chemical fire suppression systems and be properly licensed by the State of Oklahoma. Compensation Top-performing technicians earn some of the highest compensation in the Oklahoma City market through our combination of hourly pay and commissions, as well as quarterly profit sharing. $18/hour starting base pay for fully licensed technicians Very generous commission program Quarterly profit sharing Take-home company vehicle with fuel card Company-paid employee health insurance 401(k) with company match Our base pay plus commission structure creates a top-paying opportunity for experienced Pre-Engineered Fire Suppression and Fire Extinguisher Technicians in the OKC metro area. Primary Responsibilities Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install pre-engineered fire suppression systems. Perform semiannual inspections of restaurant hood suppression systems. Service systems manufactured by Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Amerex, Buckeye, Kidde, Badger, and similar manufacturers. Replace fusible links, cartridges, cylinders, nozzles, detection lines, and related components. Perform system impairments, deficiency reporting, and corrective repairs. Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and customer paperwork accurately and on time. Coordinate with restaurant owners, facility managers, contractors, and AHJs. Maintain company vehicle, tools, inventory, and equipment. Provide excellent customer service while representing Action Fire Protection professionally. Licensing & Certification Requirements Current Oklahoma Pre-Engineered Fire Suppression System Technician License (required). Current Oklahoma Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician License (highly desired or obtainable within 90 days of hire). Valid Oklahoma Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain all required state licenses and certifications. NFPA Knowledge Requirements Candidates should possess working knowledge of applicable fire protection codes and standards, including:
NFPA 17A
  • Standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems NFPA 17
  • Standard for Dry Chemical Extinguishing Systems NFPA 96
  • Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations NFPA 10
  • Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers Manufacturer installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements Applicable Oklahoma laws, regulations, and licensing requirements Qualifications Experience servicing restaurant hood suppression systems.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift and work with 50+ pounds and safely use ladders and hand tools. Ability to pass background screening and drug testing when required.
