Preparing and implementing prescribed fire plans, fire effects monitoring plans, manual and mechanical hazardous fuels trements, and smoke and wildland fire monitoring plans. Integres prescribed fire/fuels management, smoke management, fuels modificion principles and procedures, fire effects knowledge, scientific da collection and analysis principles into a comprehensive prescribed fire/fuels management program. Assists in preparion of the technical specificions for prescribed fire and mechanical trement contracts, brush disposal plans, smoke monitoring reports, and similar products. Assists in monitoring fire behavior, evaluing fire effects, identifying potential problems and making basic recommendions by reviewing fuel trement alternives and designing a prescribed fire to achieve the objective. Conducts field reconnaissance of prescribed fire/fuels trement units, summarizes field findings and makes basic recommendions on approprie prescriptive criteria for meeting program objectives. Secondary Coverage:

Prior wildland firefighting experience is required. Willing to live/work in remote locions (volile/unpredictable). For the GW-07 : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade level (GW-06) in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience are : Participed in routine aspects of inventorying and monitoring for wildland fire, prescribed fire, and/or nural resource activities; Planned and/or directed field resource da collection for fuel hazard management program; Assisted in the development and/or implemention of specific plans for fuels trement projects.

Selective Placement Factors:

Successfully completed the Primary NWCG Core Requirements of Firefighter 1 (FFT1) and Secondary NWCG Core Requirement of Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5). Interagency Fire Program Management (IFPM) and Forest Service

• Fire Program Management (FS-FPM) qualificions must be met by the time of selection.
