Probationary Firefighter

Duties Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other incident calls to provide immediate assistance. Assist in fire suppression activities using appropriate equipment and techniques. Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS), including CPR and vital signs assessment, to stabilize patients until advanced help arrives. Conduct safety inspections of buildings and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Operate firefighting apparatus, vehicles, and mechanical tools safely and efficiently during emergency responses. Support training exercises by practicing rescue techniques, hose handling, and equipment maintenance. Participate in community outreach programs to promote fire safety awareness. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus. Knowledge of first aid procedures, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and vital signs assessment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely. Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and performing strenuous tasks in challenging environments. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively during emergencies. Basic understanding of fire prevention codes, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
