  • Full-time Now Establishing Our Next Full-Time Firefighter Hiring List Millcreek Township Fire Department has proudly protected our community, delivering professional, responsive service through a dedicated team of career staff, part-time employees, and exceptional volunteers.
We are currently establishing a full-time hiring eligibility list to support anticipated staffing needs over the next year. This process is intended to identify highly qualified candidates committed to serving our community at the highest level. Please note that this application process is for full-time employment consideration only. Applications for part-time positions are accepted on an ongoing basis outside of this hiring cycle. Minimum Qualifications
  • Full-Time Applicants for full-time positions must possess the following: Firefighter II Certification (or Firefighter I with the ability to obtain Firefighter II within 3 years) Paramedic Certification (or EMT with ability to obtain Paramedic within 3 years) Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record Hazardous Materials Operations Certification NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certifications High School Diploma or GED Healthcare Provider CPR Certification Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) Completion Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following credentials will be given additional consideration: Three or more years of firefighting experience Fire Service Instructor I and II Certification Driver/Operator•Pumper Certification Driver/Operator•Aerial Certification Basic Vehicle Rescue Certification Application Deadline and Submission All applications must be received no later than May 22, 2026 .
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Submit the following documents with your application packet: Completed application Resume Cover letter describing your qualifications Copies of required certifications Copy of your driver's license (Optional) DD-214 for veterans' preference (20% added to passing written exam score) Submit your application package by mail, email, or hand delivered. A non-refundable examination fee of $65.00 is required and must be submitted at the time of testing. Payment must be made by cashier's check or money order only. Candidates must also present a valid driver's license at the time of the examination. Failure to attend the written examination at the scheduled date and time will result in removal from further consideration in the hiring process. Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications will not advance. Examination Preference Points Candidates who achieve a passing score on the written examination may be eligible for additional preference points, which will be applied to their final score. Documentation verifying eligibility must be submitted. Preference points are awarded as follows:

Resident of Erie County:
1% Current part-time Millcreek firefighter in good standing: 0.5% for every six months of continuous service determined by payroll start date (up to a maximum of 5%) All preference points will be applied to a candidate's passing written examination score to determine final ranking on the eligibility list. Physical Agility Test A selection of qualified individuals that successfully complete the written examination will be invited to a Physical Agility test being held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 . Further details, including location and specific testing time slot, will be included with your invitation. A practice physical agility test will be offered on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at West Ridge South Station, for candidates interested in familiarizing themselves with the assessment. A full description of the test requirements is included in this packet. In-Person Interviews A limited number of top candidates will be invited to an in-person interview. This is an opportunity to further discuss your qualifications and learn more about our team. Pre-Employment Screenings Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment must successfully complete: Medical Screening Drug Testing Polygraph Examination Psychological Evaluation Motor Vehicle Record Check Criminal Background Check Need Assistance?
