Job Description

Part time Police
HELP WANTED
The Borough of Girard will accept applications from qualified applicants for the position of part time police officer.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must be certified under Act 120.
  • Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule.
  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma and a valid driver's license.
  • Applicants are required to take a written examination, an oral interview and an agility test.
  • Applicants must pass a stringent background check, a physical (including drug screening) and a psychological exam.
$35.00 is the starting hourly rate. Applications must be obtained at the Girard Borough Office, 34 Main Street, Girard, Pa, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (closed Noon to 1:00PM), Monday through Friday. Applications must be returned by 4:30PM, June 22, 2026. The Civil Service Test will take place on Sunday June 28, 2026. Prequalified applicants may report for the test at 8:45 am.
