Engineer/EMT The Karns Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Engineer/EMT with fire apparatus driving experience. Job Description:

This position is intended for a qualified candidate through lateral entry.

Duties include:

Driving/ Operating Fire Apparatus (must have fire apparatus driving experience) Responding to emergency/non‐emergency incidents Interfacing with the community Pre‐fire planning Continuous training (fire, rescue, EMS) Report writing Equipment maintenance and upkeep Other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief The employee must be motivated, able to effectively function in a combination setting, and work well within a chain of command structure. This position requires working a nine day rotating schedule: 24 hours on

• 96 hours off .

Minimum Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age Be a United States citizen by the date of appointment Possess IFSAC/ Pro‐Board or State of Tennessee Fire Fighter 2 Possess IFSAC/ Pro-Board or State of Tennessee PDO or FAO Possess a valid NREMT or State of Tennessee EMT license Successfully pass a criminal background check and drug test Successfully complete a physical fitness evaluation and medical examination Successfully pass an oral interview Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Possess a valid State of Tennessee driver's license (within 10 days of hire) Pay and benefits to include (benefits start date of hire): Salary range of $54,613 ‐ $63,898 depending on experience and licensure Medical Dental Vision Employer paid short term disability
