$15,000 hiring bonus offered to candidates who enter the process with a completed Fire Academy. Fire Academy training and certifications will be reviewed for equivalency during the application process. Position Summary Camano Island Fire & Rescue (CIFR) is seeking motivated and service-oriented Firefighter/EMTs to join our team. Firefighters respond to a wide range of emergency incidents including medical emergencies, fire suppression, technical rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and public service calls. In addition to emergency response duties, members participate in fire prevention activities, ongoing training, pre-incident planning, facility inspections, equipment maintenance, and community risk reduction efforts. Firefighters operate under the supervision of Battalion Chiefs, Company Officers, and the Medical Services Officer while working alongside a dedicated team committed to protecting life, property, and the quality of life on Camano Island. This recruitment is intended for lateral entry firefighters who possess a minimum of one (1) year of career fire service experience and hold Firefighter I certification along with a Washington State EMT certification.
