Job Description

The Criminal division of the Clerk's manages court files of all arrestable offenses that occur in Manatee County. Felonies are under the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court. Misdemeanors and Criminal Traffic are under the jurisdiction of the County Court. The Team Lead/Criminal position is a full-time, non-supervisory position that reports to the Supervisor of Criminal. High School diploma or GED Three to five years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills are required Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite Working knowledge of the legal procedures, terminology and the court system Must be a Deputy Clerk Demonstrated proficiency by successfully performing at the Clerk II level Along with the satisfactory performance of this job's essential functions, the employee in this position is expected to actively and consistently demonstrate the core values of the Clerk's Office. Provides excellent customer service to all in person, in email and over the phone; is approachable, helpful and personable; and answers questions knowledgeably and with patience Provides daily direction and communication to employees to ensure all work activities are coordinated, scheduled and/or in progress to meet goals and deadlines Provides ongoing feedback to the supervisor on the status of employee training and any ongoing work-related issues Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations, efficiency and service Serves as subject matter expert Handles escalated legislative, customer complaints, priority e-mails and interdepartmental operational issues Trains and mentors all new hires and retrain existing staff on new information, systems, policies and procedures Performs Clerk II duties as needed Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
