SALARY:
The salary range for this position is $49,059.79 to $73,196.51 for Schedule A, and $49,059.79 to $69,536.67 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 21, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 21, 2014, are considered Schedule B. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth. Position is full-time for one year . Employment will be reassessed annually, or sooner if there is a reduction in the need for support to the Recall Judges. There is no guarantee of continuation beyond one year. Hours are 8:30 AM•4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Travel within the tri-county vicinage may be required. The position may be reassigned to another county within the vicinage. Vicinage 15 Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented secretary to work in a fast-paced environment providing clerical, administrative and technical support for three or more Superior Court recall judges. The selected individual needs strong computer skills for information processing using Judiciary-wide computer systems; strong technical and administrative skills; as well as exceptional organization skills with attention-to-detail. Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams is helpful as well as knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinating judge's schedule Serving as liaison between the judge and the case management and operating divisions Answering inquiries from attorneys, court staff, and the public Coordinating availability and technology capabilities of court users for court hearings (ZOOM experience a plus) Creating and moderating virtual meetings Conforming judge's orders and maintaining the workflow in/out of judicial chambers Compiling case documents and organizing jackets Reviewing and updating case data in our court systems (ACMS and eCourts) Facilitating movement of case related matters Managing incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, telephone, case conference calls and follow-up of same Formatting and typing jury instructions, charges, judicial opinions, and other legal documents Transcribing dictation Composing routine and non-routine letters and other correspondence Filing hard copy and electronic records and implementing record-keeping systems Preparing and submitting local and state reports Completing travel vouchers and other forms as required Procuring supplies, equipment and inventory for chambers Performs other related duties as required Three (3) years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: preparing and analyzing legal documents, processing legal or other documents, transcribing information, and scheduling meetings or appointments.Substitution:
Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.Testing:
Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate typing skills of at least 40 words per minute or possess proof of having taken the required skills test (for example, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or New Jersey Judiciary typing proficiency certificate).Note:
Knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful.Driver's License:
