In this pivotal role, you will lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of high-potential investment opportunities within emerging and established startups across diverse sectors. Your expertise will drive the growth of our venture portfolio, foster strong relationships with entrepreneurs and industry leaders, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of our investment initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of technological innovation and disruptive business models while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Duties Identify and source promising startups through networking, industry events, and market research to build a robust pipeline of investment opportunities Conduct comprehensive due diligence by analyzing business models, financials, market potential, and management teams using advanced legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw Negotiate deal terms, investment structures, and contractual agreements with founders and stakeholders to secure favorable terms aligned with strategic goals Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with securities law, intellectual property rights, and other regulatory requirements including environmental law and tribal law & regulations Support portfolio companies post-investment by providing strategic guidance, facilitating partnerships, and assisting with legal matters such as estate planning or employment law issues when relevant Monitor industry trends across sectors such as patent law, land use regulations, workers' compensation law, family law implications for founders, and immigration law considerations for international startups Prepare detailed investment memos, reports, and presentations that clearly articulate risks, opportunities, and strategic fit for internal decision-making Skills Extensive experience in venture capital or private equity investing with proven success in deal sourcing and execution Strong understanding of legal frameworks including securities law, litigation processes, patent law, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support due diligence efforts Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to structure complex agreements that protect both investor interests and foster startup growth Solid background in legal drafting and writing skills to prepare term sheets, shareholder agreements, NDAs, and other contractual documents Ability to analyze legal documents critically while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Strong research capabilities combined with experience working within a law office or legal administrative environment to support comprehensive due diligence processes Join us if you're passionate about identifying innovative companies shaping the future—your expertise will help fuel transformative ideas into successful ventures!
