Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Position Summary The Community Health Law Partnership (Community HeLP) at the University of Georgia School of Law seeks a 2026-2027post-graduate fellow for a 1-year position, with the possibility of renewal for a second year depending on performance and funding. Community HeLP is a two-semester legal clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law that focuses on the intersection of immigration status and health. Under the supervision of the Clinic Director and Staff Attorney, second and third year law students engage in a variety of interdisciplinary advocacy, including humanitarian and family-based immigration benefits, advocacy on behalf of immigrant detainees, and public education on issues at the intersection of health and immigration. The clinic has represented women alleging medical abuse and neglect in a Georgia detention center, noncitizen workers hurt by a gas leak at a poultry plant, asylum seekers, families and individuals fleeing violence here and abroad, and other clients whose health and well-being are affected by social determinants that have legal solutions. The Community HeLP Clinic Law Fellow will be expected to maintain a docket of cases and projects, and provide support for cases and projects handled by the Clinic Director, Staff Attorney, and students. The position will involve occasional travel. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Possess a JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Fluency in both Spanish and English
Demonstrates knowledge of legal principles and the ability to meet licensure requirements for the practice of law in one U.S. state, preferably the State of Georgia. This includes current admission to the Bar or preparedness to sit for the July 2026 Bar Examination, with the capability to obtain full Bar admission within one year of employment.
