Job Description

Troester Sharpe. P.C. is a 17-attorney employment defense law firm. Our attorneys work collaboratively and collegially, and, as a firm, we are committed to creating the opportunity for to enjoy a genuine work/life balance. In order to meet that commitment, we maintain a very reasonable 1,600 hour annual billing expectation and encourage attorneys to work from wherever they are most productive. While we maintain pleasant and fully equipped offices in Northbrook, Illinois, all attorneys have the option of maintaining a hybrid work schedule . Our clients include franchisees of global corporations, Fortune 500 companies, and small businesses. Every attorney handles all aspects of employment law counseling, agency charge response, and litigation.
Employment Law Associate Responsibilities:
Counsel clients on employment matters Investigate and respond to local, state, and federal agency charges Draft and review employment policies and employee handbooks Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including assisting with case strategy, conducting written and oral discovery, research, and drafting pleadings, motions, & briefs Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients' supervisory and HR staff
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law, as well as experience counseling and effectively communicating with clients Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to be focused, detail oriented, and "leave no stone unturned" in advocacy efforts on behalf of our employer clients Strong work ethic and ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment Stellar academic credentials Member in good standing of the bar of one or more states Our practice is nationwide and includes extensive advice and counseling work with California employers. Candidates who are licensed in CA are encouraged to apply. Troester Sharpe, P.C. offers a competitive salary structure as well as a robust offering of benefits to all of its employees and attorneys. Compensation is based upon the roles and responsibilities of the position, the experience and education of the applicant and/or employee and is aligned with internal pay equity within the firm itself. The hiring salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $150,000, for those candidates who meet the above qualifications. These figures are not representative of the full compensation range for this position.
