Job Description

Straffi & Straffi Attorneys at Law is a growing boutique law firm focused on helping individuals and families through some of the most important moments of their lives. Our practice is centered on New Jersey divorce/family law and consumer bankruptcy matters. We are a client-focused, high-accountability firm that values responsiveness, compassion, professionalism, and teamwork. We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is motivated, organized, and eager to grow within a fast-paced but supportive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking for hands-on litigation experience, courtroom exposure, direct client interaction, and long-term professional growth. Responsibilities Manage a caseload involving divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, along with Debt negotiation and bankruptcy matters Conduct client consultations and strategy discussions Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence Attend court appearances, mediations, and hearings Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff professionally and effectively Assist with case strategy and file management Maintain accurate case notes and documentation within firm systems Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to ensure exceptional client service Qualifications Licensed attorney in New Jersey and in good standing Minimum of 1 year of experience in family law, bankruptcy law, or related litigation Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable handling emotionally sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy Litigation and courtroom experience preferred Experience with Clio or similar case management software is a plus What We Offer Hybrid work flexibility Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity for professional growth and mentorship Supportive team-oriented environment Direct courtroom and client experience Growing boutique firm with leadership opportunities for the right candidate Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is proactive, accountable, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable working independently while remaining highly collaborative.
