Job Description

Scaringi & Scaringi, P.C. is a full-service law firm headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. From our Harrisburg office, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth in a wide range of legal matters, providing practical, client-focused representation and counsel. Our attorneys are committed to delivering exceptional legal services while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and client service. We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Employment Law practice group. Position Requirements Active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar. Prior experience handling employment law matters. Experience advising employers and/or employees on workplace issues, compliance matters, personnel policies, and employment-related disputes. Strong legal research, writing, drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills. Experience drafting and reviewing employee handbooks, employment agreements, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, independent contractor agreements, and workplace policies. Familiarity with federal and Pennsylvania employment laws, including wage and hour issues, discrimination claims, harassment claims, retaliation claims, leave laws, and workplace investigations. Experience handling administrative matters before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC), and related governmental entities. Ability to independently manage litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, motions practice, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials. Ability to manage multiple client matters while providing exceptional client service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and immediately assume responsibility for an active caseload. Preferred Qualifications Experience representing employers in employment litigation and compliance matters. Experience conducting workplace investigations and advising on disciplinary and termination decisions. Experience providing employment-related training to employers, management teams, or human resources professionals. Familiarity with labor law issues and proceedings before administrative agencies. Existing relationships within the business community are a plus. Compensation This position offers commission-based compensation with significant earning potential.
Compensation includes:
35% to 50% of collections on matters handled by the attorney. An additional 7% of collections on matters originated by the attorney. 15%, 20%, or 25% (based upon length of employment) of collections generated by other attorneys on matters originated by the attorney. The commission-based compensation structure requires a minimum of 600 billable hours annually. Signing Bonus Qualified candidates may be eligible for a $15,000 signing bonus. Please refer to the Employment Application for complete terms and conditions. Established Caseload and Referral Opportunities The successful candidate will have the opportunity to step into an established and growing Employment Law practice with a steady stream of firm-generated referrals. Unlike many commission-based positions that require attorneys to build a client base from scratch, this position offers immediate earning potential through existing matters while also providing the opportunity to develop and expand your own book of business. Portable business is welcome but not required. Important Information The Firm does not offer employer-sponsored health insurance. Applicants seeking employer-provided health insurance should not apply. This is a full-time, in-office position. Daily attendance in the office is required, except when attending court or other approved work-related obligations. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this position. Why Join Scaringi & Scaringi? Our Employment Law practice assists employers and employees in navigating complex workplace issues and resolving disputes efficiently and effectively. We are seeking an attorney who enjoys helping clients address challenging legal and business concerns while providing practical, strategic guidance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advise clients on day-to-day employment issues, litigate employment disputes, develop long-term client relationships, and build a thriving practice.
