Note Candidates must have active Virginia Bar admission, 3+ years of domestic and family law experience, and strong litigation experience handling divorce, custody, child support, and related family law matters. Job Description Serve as lead counsel on domestic and family law matters from initial consultation through resolution Develop case strategy and provide clear, thoughtful counsel to clients Handle divorce, custody, child support, and related domestic litigation matters Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other case documents Manage discovery, case deadlines, negotiations, mediation, and hearings Appear regularly in Virginia state courts for temporary and final hearings Work independently while collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff Supervise or guide junior attorneys and paralegals when appropriate Help clients navigate difficult personal matters with professionalism, compassion, and sound judgment Qualifications Active Virginia Bar admission required 3+ years of domestic and family law experience required 5+ years of family law experience preferred Litigation experience involving divorce, custody, and child support required Strong writing, negotiation, client counseling, and courtroom skills Ability to manage a caseload independently without step-by-step oversight Willingness to travel to courts throughout Northern Virginia Experience supervising junior attorneys or paralegals preferred Interest in working in a mission-driven, values-centered legal environment Why You Will Love Working Here This is a strong opportunity for a family law attorney who wants more than just another litigation role.
