The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate with 5 to 8 years of practice to join our growing Seattle team. This role is ideal for a skilled practitioner who wants to transition away from the grueling billable hour demands of BigLaw without sacrificing the quality of work or career trajectory. With a highly manageable billable requirement of 1,600 to 1,700 hours and a flexible hybrid work schedule, you will have the autonomy and support to thrive both professionally and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise and represent diverse clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour compliance, and employment agreements. Manage cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, handling discovery, and appearing in state and federal courts. Provide strategic advice and counsel to employers regarding policy development, compliance, and risk mitigation. Collaborate closely with partners and mentor junior associates in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
• 5-8 years of dedicated employment law experience (litigation, advice, and counsel, or a mix of both). Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
