Job Description

It is the mission of the ARDC to promote and protect the integrity of the legal profession, at the direction of the Supreme Court, by registering and supporting attorneys, providing innovative education and outreach programs, and offering restorative services to help lawyers uphold the highest ethical standards. Through thorough investigations and fair proceedings, we address allegations of attorney misconduct and unauthorized practice of law, ensuring accountability while also advocating for those harmed by misconduct.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC) is seeking a Law Clerk in Chicago to support the Litigation Division. This position offers law students the opportunity to conduct substantive legal research and writing, across a broad range of legal issues. Qualified third-year law students may also engage in activities authorized under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 under attorney supervision.

Conduct legal research on a variety of legal issues Prepare memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents Assist attorneys in litigation-related matters Participate in Rule 711 - authorized activities, if eligible and supervised
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS
Bachelor's degree required Successful completion of the first year of law school Strong legal research and writing skills
SCHEDULE
We offer a hybrid work schedule that combines remote and in-office work. Up to 37.5 hours/week during the summer months and then, approximately 12-15 hours/week during the school year. Salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, with a targeted salary range of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
