Essential Duties:
  • Provide legal representation and guidance in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support, property division, and domestic violence
  • Conduct thorough client consultations, assess case merits, and develop strategies to achieve client objectives
  • Prepare and file legal documents accurately and within deadlines, such as complaints, motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to build strong legal arguments
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution for favorable settlements
  • Advocate for clients in court proceedings through persuasive arguments, witness examination, and evidence presentation
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with clients, explaining options and updates on case progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues for trial preparation, information exchange, and efficient case management
  • Conduct depositions, gather evidence, and engage expert witnesses as needed Misc.
Duties:
  • Stay updated on family law developments to provide accurate legal advice
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and client trust
  • Manage caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail
  • Develop professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance legal knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to firm marketing through networking, legal articles, and presentations to attract clients and showcase expertise
  • Assist in collecting or have payment plan executed for 80%+ billable hours
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience, some family law experience required
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas, Juris Doctor Degree
  • Able to commute to the office in Tyler or Austin, TX
  • Strong skillset to give clients an exceptional experience and litigate effectively
  • Only 1,200 billable hours required per year, increased compensation for additional hours
Compensation:
    Base Salary:
    $70,000
    • 120,000 (Commensurate with experience) o Billable Hour Incentive plan: begins at $5,000 and goes up to $170,000 o
    Consultation Fee Incentive:
    $10,000
    • $20,000 per year
    Bonus Comp:
    $20,0000
    • New Client Origination Bonus
    • 25% for personal injury clients and discretionary on family law clients
    • Annual Performance Bonus
    • discretionary based on firm and individual performance
