Job Description

The SDVSAS Legal Services Coordinator provides legal advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault as they navigate the family, civil, and criminal justice systems.
This includes:
providing information about the legal systems to survivors assisting with protection orders providing court support for protection order hearings networking with law enforcement, the courts, and other professionals to improve systems response for survivors assisting with the community Domestic Violence Task Force and DV Impact Panel Coordinating High- Risk victim follow up services providing other advocacy services to survivors, like safety planning and crisis intervention SDVSAS is an established non-profit doing vital social service work and offers a generous benefits package including employer paid health and dental insurance, holiday, vacation, and sick leave, and retirement plans. Qualifications BA in social services related field and/or 2 years of experience in social services or legal field excellent writing and verbal communications skills familiarity with family court system or passion to learn ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including law enforcement, prosecutors, and clients from diverse backgrounds Sensitivity to and knowledge of issues around domestic violence and sexual assault Experience working with people in sensitive situations Successful completion of 32 hours of accredited DV/SA training upon hire Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner

$26.00 - $27.00 per hour
