Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Deputy Sheriff S.R.O. (School Resource Officer), where you will serve as a vital link between the Sheriff's Office and our educational community. This dynamic role combines law enforcement expertise with community engagement, ensuring a safe, secure, and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for enforcing laws, providing security, and fostering trust within the school setting, all while demonstrating leadership and professionalism. Your proactive approach will help prevent incidents and promote a culture of safety and respect. This position includes a $400/Month additional pay stipend. Duties Patrol school premises regularly to maintain safety and deter misconduct Respond swiftly to emergencies, incidents, or disturbances on campus Conduct criminal investigations related to school safety concerns or incidents Enforce laws and school policies while maintaining positive relationships with students and staff Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to assist injured individuals Use surveillance equipment to monitor activity and identify potential threats or violations Write detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, and actions taken Collaborate with school administrators, parents, and community partners to address safety issues Manage conflict situations through effective conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques Assist with animal handling or animal care on campus if needed for safety reasons Skills Strong knowledge of law enforcement procedures, criminal investigation techniques, and immigration law where applicable Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy Leadership qualities with the ability to guide others during emergencies or routine activities Proficiency in driving law enforcement vehicles safely under various conditions Experience in surveillance operations and conflict management strategies Basic first aid, CPR certification, and familiarity with emergency response protocols Ability to handle animals responsibly and understand animal behavior when relevant Knowledge of loss prevention, security practices, and school safety protocols Background in military service or prior law enforcement experience highly desirable Join us in making a meaningful difference by ensuring our schools are safe havens for learning.
