at Department of Natural Resources in Springfield, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is hiring a Conservation Police Sergeant for the Division of Law Enforcement Support Services. This position serves as a full line supervisor providing guidance and training to staff, directs the Law Enforcement License/Permit Programs and serves as a liaison with the Illinois General Assembly, Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and the Illinois State Police Laboratory, serves as an US Fish and Wildlife Service Deputy Game Warden providing assistance in coordinating law enforcement efforts between state and federal agencies. We welcome all qualified candidates to apply. Essential Functions Under direction of the OLE (Office of Law Enforcement) Training Lieutenant, Directs and oversees the Law Enforcement License/Permits Programs consisting of wildlife rehabilitator, falconry, mounting (scientific permits), crossbow and standing vehicle permits and ginseng license. Under direction, serves as a sworn statutory peace officer and full-line supervisor. Administers and provides directions for revocation/suspension of privileges under all programs. Serves as Office of Law Enforcement liaison with other agencies and IDNR Divisions, the Illinois General Assembly, Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Laboratory, Illinois State Police Laboratory. Develops and implements procedures to monitor compliance with Conservation laws and regulations by licensed commercial establishments (i.e., fur buyers, fish markets, etc). Enforces all Illinois Revised Statues, Administrative Rules and applicable Federal laws. Serves as Law Enforcement’s representative on special agency committees and projects. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
