Job Description
Director-Chief of Police Job Description Overview Our leaders shape strategic initiatives, develop passionate teams, and work to improve health outcomes. Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Metro Region Clinical Operation's leadership team in the role of Director - Clinical Operations. The Chief provides administrative leadership and direction for the regional Department of Public Safety. Leading the department strategic planning process, including assessing and reporting progress made toward goals and objectives, primary oversight of the annual budget, and financial planning for their assigned region. You will also have management and oversight of recruitment and hiring. Leading the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies, and any assigned projects. Act as a representative of the IU Health Department of Public Safety through various community outreach programs with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Relationships Reports to:
Executive Director, Superintendent Candidate Qualifications Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience. Comprehensive background in supervision required. Requires previous successful completion of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II training or equivalent. Requires current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License. Requires knowledge of computers and various software programs. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation, including drug screening and psychological exam. Must be able to obtainNCIC/IDACS
access. FBI National Academy or similar command college is preferred. Have never had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked. Not currently on suspension or have a voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license currently in effect.
