GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of command officers, the records division provides information and assistance to the public, governmental agencies, and all law enforcement officers. They are responsible for the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) terminal to enter, retrieve and cancel warrants, stolen property, and individuals. Controls access to the jail and Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Assist citizens seeking assistance from the Monroe Public Safety Department when they are closed on weekends and holidays. Assist citizens seeking assistance from the Civil Division and Traffic Services Division when those divisions and offices are closed. Handles sex offender registration and confirmation on warrants. They direct citizens to proper resources such as civil collection, vehicle salvage, and traffic reports. The Records Division is now open 24/7.
Age and Citizenship:
Must be at least 18 years of age and a United States citizen.
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent with some advanced coursework in accounting/bookkeeping and data processing.
Experience:
One year of bookkeeping related experience, preferably in a law enforcement related setting.
Other Requirements:
Ability to obtain LEIN operator certification during employment. Must have the ability to multitask.
Drivers License:
The applicant must possess a valid operator's license.
Drug Testing:
Applicant will be screened for the use of illegal controlled substances. This testing will be completed after the conditional offer of employment.
Good Moral Character:
Possess a good moral character as determined by a favorable comprehensive background investigation covering school and employment records, home environment, and personal traits and integrity. Consideration will be given to all criminal and civil law violations as indicating a lack of good character.
Fingerprinting:
Applicants will be fingerprinted to search State and Federal fingerprint files to disclose criminal records.
