FULL TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF ROAD PATROL

INFORMATION
Captain Justin B. Fruchey 906-635-6355 ext. 397 The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for full-time Road Patrol Deputy positions. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating criminal and civil complaints, traffic crashes, and report writing, as well as enforcing traffic laws. Applicants must be MCOLES certified or certifiable at the time of appointment.
BENEFITS
Current salary range starting at $26.37 an hour progressing to $30.05 an hour for 3-year deputy. Starting rate may be negotiable for lateral transfers or those with prior law enforcement experience. Chippewa County offers a MERS hybrid retirement plan and up to an 8% match into a Nationwide 457 plan. Health insurance benefits with BCBS of Michigan. Sick time, vacation time, personal leave days, and compensatory time off. Take home patrol vehicles provided for all full-time road patrol deputies. Opportunities within the Sheriff's Office include but are not limited to road patrol, road patrol sergeant, Detective and Detective sergeant, TRI-Dent Detective, School Resource Officers, Marine, ORV and Snowmobile, and Drone pilots.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Associate's degree or higher
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess current Michigan Commission om Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) licensing or be licensable prior to applying
