Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Deputy Sheriff in Category I & Category III roles! In this vital position, you will serve and protect the community by enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, and supporting various operational duties. Your proactive approach, combined with strong leadership and investigative skills, will ensure a secure environment for all residents and visitors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your career in law enforcement and public service. Duties Enforce local, state, and federal laws through patrols, investigations, and community engagement. Conduct criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports. Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents to provide assistance and maintain order. Perform surveillance activities to monitor suspicious activity and prevent criminal behavior. Apply first aid and CPR when necessary to stabilize individuals until medical professionals arrive. Manage conflict situations effectively through negotiation, de-escalation techniques, and conflict management skills. Handle animals safely during incidents involving animal control or wildlife encounters. Write comprehensive reports documenting investigations, incidents, and daily activities for legal and departmental records. Assist with security operations at various sites to prevent loss prevention issues or unauthorized access. Support immigration law enforcement efforts where applicable, ensuring compliance with legal procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of law enforcement procedures, criminal investigation techniques, and report writing standards. Proficiency in driving patrol vehicles safely under various conditions. Ability to perform surveillance activities with attention to detail and patience. Excellent leadership qualities to guide team members and coordinate operations effectively. Experience in military or security roles that demonstrate discipline and tactical skills is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal handling techniques for safe interaction with animals during emergencies or investigations. Knowledge of immigration laws, loss prevention strategies, and security protocols to enhance enforcement efforts. Competence in conflict management to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety for all parties involved.
