Job Description

IS A SCDPPPS INTERNAL POSTING ONLY
•Region 4: Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Calhoun, Clarendon, Dillon, Florence, Lee, Lexington, Marion, Richland, Sumter Under limited supervision of the Associate Deputy Director for Offender Supervision and Enforcement Services, incumbent will serve as Regional Director. Incumbent is responsible for the development of long and short term planning to accomplish Departmental and Divisional mission and goals; directs and manages all aspects of regional operations; provides input to the Department's budget development process and manages fiscal resources within the region; develops and implements Offender Supervision and Enforcement Services policies and procedures; develops and implements special county and regional programs for offenders under the Department's supervision; participates in the design and implementation of Offender Supervision and Enforcement Services evaluation plans; manages human resources within the region; maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the Department; participates in the development of staff training programs and curriculum; and maintains professional competence. A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience supervising the activities of probation and parole staff. An associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.
NOTE:
Must be currently Class 1 (C -1) certified law enforcement officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. A Master's Degree involving special training in the field of social science and five (5) years of experience in probation/parole work; OR a Bachelor's Degree involving special training in the field of social science and six (6) years in probation/parole work. Four (4) years of supervisory experience in law enforcement is required.
