Records & Civil Process Clerk The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Records & Civil Process Clerk. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations and serving the public in a professional and efficient manner. Position Summary This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties, including assisting the public both in person and by telephone, processing civil process documents, responding to open records requests, releasing documents, and receipting payments. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 18 years of age Valid Wisconsin Driver's License Previous office and customer service experience required Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations; Ability to work both independently and in a team Ability to follow oral and written instructions and adhere to established procedures Wages and Benefits This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a starting wage of $20.67 - $21.52 DOQ. Sheriff's Department Supervisor:
Chief Deputy General Description The Records & Civil Process Clerk supports the mission of the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department. This position is responsible for assisting the Sheriff and department leadership with administrative functions in accordance with the Sheriff's Department Policies and Procedures Manual. Duties and Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to members of the public and county staff. Perform general clerical duties including filing, indexing, photocopying, faxing, emailing, and distributing mail and packages. Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors to the Sheriff's Office. Maintain departmental records and filing systems. Process and release reports and collect associated fees. Receipt monies and reconcile the cash drawer per County policy. Administer Civil Process functions, including document preparation, scheduling, and recordkeeping. Process open records requests. Maintain employee clothing allowance accounts. Maintain lobby pamphlets and bulletin boards. Run daily errands to bank(s), post office, and other locations. Collect payments for tow bills. Provide backup transcription support. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Previous office and customer service experience required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally. Proficiency with computers and office software. TIME Certified (Level I) required. Ability to transcribe reports into the Records Management System.
