Job Description

The Huntsville Police Department in Arkansas is looking to add a full-time patrolman. Salary depending on qualifications. All persons interested in applying for the position must have a high school diploma (preferred) or GED, valid driver's license, 21 years of age or older, drug-free, and must submit to a pre-employment physical, psychological evaluation, and drug screening. Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the Huntsville Police Department located at 200 E. Main St. Huntsville, Ar 72740 Overview The Law Enforcement Officer plays a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to upholding the law, protecting citizens, and ensuring a safe environment. Officers will engage in various activities including patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergencies, and conducting investigations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a keen sense of observation, and the ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations. Duties Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to deter and detect criminal activity. Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents requiring law enforcement intervention. Perform surveillance operations to monitor suspicious activities and gather evidence for investigations. Write detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations. Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and welfare. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to enhance public safety efforts. Enforce laws related to immigration and assist with related investigations as needed. Provide first aid and CPR as necessary during emergencies until medical personnel arrive. Demonstrate leadership skills by mentoring new recruits or assisting in training programs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in criminal justice is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. Experience or training in surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies is an asset. Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation of incidents. Leadership capabilities to guide team members effectively during operations or training sessions. Ability to maintain composure under pressure while making sound decisions quickly.
