$37.13/hour (as of 5/1/26) per the collective bargaining agreement. Applications will be reviewed, and interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis. The position will remain open until filled.

7,000 Position Details VOE Police Officer - Part-Time The Village of Elburn is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Police Officer. This part-time police position involves a variety of traditional policing duties, along with providing police services for community events. Part-Time Police Officers report to the Police Sergeant. This part-time position does not advance to a full-time officer position; there is a separate testing process for full-time police officers. Applications will be reviewed, and interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis. The position will remain open until filled.
Qualifications:
United States citizen Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma Must be currently certified with a Law Enforcement Basic Training Course by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (or eligible for a training waiver from ILETSB with an accepted certification) Must be currently serving as a sworn police officer or have served as a sworn officer in Illinois within the last 24 months Valid driver's license Must not have been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by the statute Must participate in and complete all stages of the hiring process, white may include, but not be limited to: oral interview extensive background investigation polygraph post-offer psychological physical exam drug screen Must reside within forty (40) miles of the Elburn Police facility upon completion of their probationary period of employment
Hours:
Part-time officers work 8-hour shifts, with a minimum availability of three (3) shifts a month. All applicants must be available to work all shifts, including midnights, weekends, and holidays.
