20,000+ Position Details Testing is being conducted for future hiring needs. The Montgomery Police Department provides policing services to 20,200+ residents and businesses within the Village limits. The department strives hard each day to provide exceptional public service, demonstrate community pride, and maintain public safety throughout the community. Police Officer applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Driver's License:
Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's License upon hiring.
Age Requirements:
Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioners' Act. Applicants must be 20 years of age as they file their application. Applicants shall have attained their 21st birthday prior to appointment as a probationary police officer. Proof of birth date will be required at time of application.
Education:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Character:
Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character.
Testing:
Must be able to participate and successfully complete all stages of the testing process.
Vision:
Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, normal peripheral vision, no impairment of color blindness.

card is not needed to take the written test. If your score qualifies to make the final list, you will be contacted to perform the power test. Candidates are NOT required to have a valid
P.O.W.E.R.
Card, to apply and take the written examination. Candidates who pass the written examination will be invited back to a later date to perform the POWER test. Work hours: Applicant must be able to regularly work twelve-hour shifts with the possibility of working other hours/shifts as needed. Must also be able to work weekends and holidays. Montgomery Police Department 10 Civic Center Avenue Montgomery, IL 60538 You must bring your Driver's License with you to complete registration and take the exam. Examination results will be compiled to create an initial eligibility list.
