20,000+ Position Details Testing is being conducted for future hiring needs. The Montgomery Police Department provides policing services to 20,200+ residents and businesses within the Village limits. Police Officer applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Citizenship:

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Driver's License:

Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's License upon hiring.

Age Requirements:

Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioners' Act. Applicants must be 20 years of age as they file their application. Applicants shall have attained their 21st birthday prior to appointment as a probationary police officer. Proof of birth date will be required at time of application.

Education:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Character:

Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character.

Testing:

Must be able to participate and successfully complete all stages of the testing process.

Vision:

Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, normal peripheral vision, no impairment of color blindness.
