Part-time Police Officer Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chief of Police, a Park District police officer's primary responsibility is the protection of people and property. A Park District officer is expected to patrol their assigned jurisdiction (nearly 2,300 acres), respond to calls for service, investigate criminal offenses, make arrests and issue citations when appropriate, testify in court, assist park patrons, and protect the financial assets of the park district.

Qualifications:

High school diploma (or equivalent) Currently certified as a police officer in the State of Illinois Current on all mandated training set forth by ILETSB Minimum of 1 year experience as a police officer Be of sound moral character No disqualifying criminal convictions Complete a thorough background investigation Available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month Available to work some holidays and special details

Benefits:

Starting rate of pay: $20.00 / hour Special event rate of pay: $30.00 / hour Uniforms provided Paid training Applications can be found online at www.pekinparkdistrict.org, or can be picked up in person at the Robert N.
