This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to protecting lives, property, and upholding the law. Officers will engage in various activities, including patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and interacting with the community to foster positive relationships. Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity and enforce laws. Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as needed. Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and other law enforcement activities. Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities and gather intelligence. Manage conflicts effectively, employing de-escalation techniques when necessary. Provide first aid in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive. Handle animals safely during incidents involving wildlife or domestic pets. Participate in community outreach programs to build trust and cooperation with residents. Qualifications High school diploma (GED accepted with 30 semester hours of credit from an accredited university) 21-39 years of age United States Citizen No convictions of a felony criminal violation Have no conviction of domestic violence or a domestic violence-related offense, either misdemeanor or felony Be of good moral character Possess a valid driver's license from current state of residence Military discharge (if applicable) cannot be characterized as "other than honorable", "bad conduct", or "dishonorable" Must pass mandatory drug screening Have uncorrected vision at least 20/100 in both eyes, or be a long-term successful user of soft contact lenses correctable to 20/30 (must also be free from color blindness) Must be able to pass a physical agility assessment test Must be able to pass a competitive written exam Must submit to in-depth background investigation; polygraph, psychological testing and medical examination This position offers an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about serving their community while ensuring safety and justice for all.
