JOB DESCRIPTION
Providing security for beaches and Parks. Is a liaison between the Park Department, Gary Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Will enforce rules, and regulations. Enforce City laws, City Codes Infractions, and State laws. Assist in the investigation of violations in the Parks. Partner with DNR in reference to Parks. Attend community meetings and address the public and staff pertaining to the Parks.
QUALIFICATIONS
NATURE OF WORK:
Beach Patrol Security is responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the beach and parks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Liaison between the Parks Department, Gary Police Department and partner with other law enforcement agencies. Enforce rules, regulations. Enforce City laws, City Codes Infractions, and State laws Assist in investigation of violations in the Parks. Partner with DNR in reference to Parks. Attend meetings, community meetings and address the public and staff pertaining to the park.

EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS ILEA/NILEA
40-hour pre-basic-certification for law enforcement officers Must be certificated in an ATV training course
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to lift 25 lbs-50 lbs (if required) Noise level low/moderate Stooping/Bending/Kneeling/Squatting/Walking/Standing Use of hands to handle, touch, feel, reach Eye-hand coordination Vision (May include close vision) Hearing
