Department LDH-Office for Citizens with Development Disabilities Opening Date 05/18/2026 Closing Date 5/23/2026 11:59 PM Central About this Job We're looking for a Police Officer to join our dedicated team at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center (CLSSC) —a facility committed to providing active treatment and healthcare services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and orthopedic disabilities in the least restrictive environment. Minimum Qualifications No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license. Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Investigates cases derived on campus. Prepares required police reports and law enforcement related documents Attends shift briefings related to patrol and attends law enforcement training Drives police carts in the execution of duty and must possess a valid driver's license Enforce local and state laws and agency policies by performing foot and mobile patrols in assigned area assuring people are safe and free from abuse and neglect Performs various daily activities including: directs traffic, provide solutions to parking problems, issue traffic citations in accordance with CLSSC policy Prepares vehicle accident reports, prepares incident reports, performs insurance and seatbelt check points, secures buildings at night and weekends, searches vehicles for stolen property and/or contraband, assist in search of eloped individuals, maintains traffic control using radar, and monitors traffic entering grounds at night Prevent and control disturbances or illegal activities, detain offenders for questioning or investigations Respond to calls for police assistance on grounds Respond to emergencies, escort ambulance to on-ground locations Assist direct care staff to provide support to individuals residing at
