Secure Juvenile Transportation Officer TransPro Transportation LLC Fort Washington, MD Job Details Part-time | Full-time $47,840 - $54,080 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Route driving Active listening Military Motivational interviewing Ability to follow instructions Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic driver to escort and transport juveniles in the care of the Department of Juvenile Services. To ensure safe and timely transport of individuals to and from various program activities, institutions, facilities, scheduled court and appointments within the State of Maryland and surrounding states. Responsibilities Safely drive escort youth during transportation to and from designated locations, ensuring adherence to scheduled routes and timelines Monitor youth behavior during transit, employing conflict management techniques to de-escalate issues promptly and effectively Conduct thorough safety checks of transportation vehicles before each trip, including securing doors, seat belts, and emergency equipment Supervise youth during loading, unloading, and transit, maintaining a vigilant presence to prevent incidents or misconduct Utilize motivational interviewing skills to engage youth positively, encouraging cooperation and respectful communication Document incidents, behavioral concerns, or safety issues accurately in case management records for follow-up and reporting purposes Collaborate with law enforcement or security personnel when necessary to ensure safety and address any emergencies or violations Skills Proven experience in supervising youth or managing group activities in educational, social work, military, or security settings Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and security protocols related to transportation safety Experience with case management practices to track behavioral incidents and support youth development goals Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques to foster positive engagement with young individuals Background in social work, military service, or security enhances the ability to handle diverse situations effectively Excellent communication skills for clear instructions, active listening, and building rapport with youth and team members Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing safe transportation services that empower youth to thrive!
