Duties Help The purpose of this position is to protect Federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. This position performs the following duties: Performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within the military installion. Apprehends and detains violors of laws, rules, and regulions and turns them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and/or posting of colleral. Serves fixed posts or prols the installion on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances. Responds to calls for emergency assistance to include active shooter, suspicious persons, castrophic events, scenes of crimes/nural disasters and enemy tacks, and makes apprehensions. Incumbent is required to perform specialized techniques, methods, and procedures to execute search and apprehension; counter terrorist operions; or counter violence posing a thre to public safety. As directed, acts as the on-scene commander for significant and castrophic events. Performs traffic duty to include directing traffic and escorting dignitaries. Incumbent enforces pertinent administrive rules and regulions governing traffic control, parking, building, or other facility access, and breaches in physical security controls (locks, fences, ges, or other barriers). When enforcing rules and regulions established to accomplish the protective missions, security forces personnel control the movement of persons and protect lives and personal property in and around the identified Federal property. The incumbent carries out reled duties such as, escorting persons and valuables; driving emergency vehicles; detecting and reporting potential fire and accident hazards; making preliminary checks of violions; and, preparing reports of incidents or security conditions. Serves as a Security Forces Dispcher for the installion. Dispches personnel and equipment to meet emergency situions. Monitors the locions of all posts, alarm systems, closed circuit television systems and telephone/radio networks. As required, coordines with civilian police, fire, rescue and emergency units for assistance. Uses computerized informion systems to direct prols, record daily blotter informion, and retrieve informion through the FBI's Nional Crime Informion Center System. Uses knowledge of the Security Forces Management Informion Systems (SFMIS) to retrieve informion and complete reports on the systems. Receives, records, and secures confisced items and evidence. Assures witness stements are properly secured. Keeps reports and complaint records. Prepares shift activity reports. Interviews witnesses and suspects to obtain and verify informion. Advises suspects of their rights. Receives and records radio, telephone, and personal messages and instructions involving emergencies, complaints, violions, accidents, and requests for informion and assistance. Transmits messages and instructions to officers on prol and dispch officers to investige complaints and assist in emergencies. Interprets directives and instructions and answers general inquiries. Maintains records and prepares reports covering activities and events occurring over the course of a shift. Performs the full range of Base Entry Controller and commercial vehicle inspection duties. Ensures individuals requesting access to the installion have the proper identificion credentials before entering. Conducts random vehicle searches the prively owned vehicle (POV) ges and conducts thorough searches of all vehicles commercial ge. Performs random antiterrorism measures in accordance with applicable instructions. Performs over-wch duties as required by force protection conditions. Responsible for Issuing base entry passes (individual and vehicle), and conducts background checks on contractors. Operes vehicle arresting barriers as necessary. Performs the full range of duties for defending protection level resources (Prol, Security Response Team (I-SRT & E-SRT). Defends installion personnel, equipment, and resources from hostile ground tack. Participes in tactical defense postures as a member of a quick reaction force to deny infiltrion or tack. Verifies credentials to ensure only authorized personnel, vehicles, and equipment items are permitted in these areas and valides each person's need to access the area. Ensures ors are informed of applicable security requirements. Operes, monitors, and assesses sensor systems for the area. Responds to all area alarms and makes required notificions. This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard, required prior to the effective de of placement. Must not have used, distributed, or manufactured illicit narcotics or been arrested for any narcotics use, distribution or manufacturing. Have not sniffed or used a substance to obtain an altered consciousness ste from aerosol spray, lighter fluid, petro chemical, adhesives, Freon, or any other chemical for a purpose not intended for use. Qualified to bear firearms according to AFI 31-117, "Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel". No acts of larceny, wrongful appropriion, robbery, burglary, housebreaking, misconduct in comb defined in UCMJ Articles 99-106, or any act th harmed or had the potential to harm the physical safety or well-being of animals to include Military Working Dogs. EXPERIENCE
: 1 year equivalent to least next lower grade level. Experience th provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulions, law enforcement operions, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing or protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other nural resource or recreional environments; in performing criminal investigive duties; or in other work th provided the required knowledge and skills. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candides' experience should be evalued on the basis of duties performed rher than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. Requirements (continued) Never convicted by a civilian court of a Cegory One, Two, or Three offense, nor exceeded the accepted number of Cegory Four offenses. The Cegory Three and Four traffic offenses alone are not disqualifying.

Medical Requirements:
To qualify for this series, a current physical and a cleared drug test are mandory. Normal color vision and normal depth perception are required, as defined by current Air Force Medical Examinions and Standards Instructions Distance visual acuity correctable to 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other. No speech disorder or noticeable communicion deficiency as defined in
AFI 48-123.
No diagnosed fear of acrophobia (fear of heights) or confined spaces. To qualify for this series, must confirm there is no history of emotional instability, personality disorder, or other unresolved mental health problems. No record of sleep disorders to include, but not limited to, sleep apneas, insomnias, hyper-somnias, narcolepsy, or restless leg syndrome. No current diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or Perceptual/Learning Disorder(s); and, prescribed medicion(s) to tre these disorders in the last 12 months. No history of mood disorders including bipolar disorder, major depression, dysthymia, or depression not otherwise specified. No recorded evidence of personality disorder, sustained or untreable emotional instability to include depression, or suicidal behavior to include tempts, gestures, ideions, thres, or history of self-mutilion. Individuals who had their spleens removed are not eligible for assignment to the military working dog program or any canine functions. The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions.
