Annually Position Summary:

Under limited direction, this position performs law enforcement work such as routine patrol, preliminary investigations, crime control, and traffic regulation for the protection of life and property and prevention; and provides emergency services through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.

Essential Functions:

Respond to calls for service; handles citizen complaints, problem solving, making custodial arrests, and issuing summons. Knowledge of state law and local ordinance. Ability to drive and operate emergency vehicles. Ability to handle volatile persons, defend self and others, and testify. Investigates reports of crime, interview victims, suspects and others involved, collects evidence, packages cases for prosecution. Complete paperwork, reports and case management, and training. Patrol city streets, neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and conducts traffic enforcement and issues citations. Knowledge of city geography. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
